Wifi time by time is slow or disconecting. Sound protection not best. Reception stuff reserved but no problem. Location amazing - between les halles, notre dam, louvre, bastille- walking distance. Very Clean.
I would like to commend the receptionists and the staff for doing a great job on managing the front desk. Especially the guys and 1 lady at night during my stay. They were very helpful and approachable. There are a few comments though that needs the management's attention. The foul smell that is coming out of the toilet (sewage smell) really bothered me. And most of the nights were calm except for some occasional guest or staff (french speakers) which I can hear from my room coming from the narrow corridor located at level 3. Other than that my stay was comfortable as I'm only 1 person in a single room, and didn't spend much time at the room during the day.
place was small but understandable for the price but my goodness, i'll never get a place with no air conditioning again in my life.
The hotel is small. Corridor is quite narrow. I booked double room. Bed was a queen and took up most of the room leaving small space around bed for moving. No wardrobe just hooks and hangers. TV on arm outside bathroom door and if you forgot to move it there was a tendency to bang head. We used the room for sleeping only as out all day therefore it was adequate for our needs. The hotel is close to the metro at Oberkampf 5 minutes walk. There are also lots of shops cafes and resturants around about and a fresh food market on tuesdays and fridays. The one big negative is i got stuck in the elevator and had to call for help. After that it was out oc commisdion therefore everyone had to use the narrow winding stairs to get rooms and bring luggage up and down. Reasonable and simple breakfast available. Coffee available at reception as no coffee or tea facilities or fridges in rooms
Room was a decent size. No AC in rooms, take that into account. It felt like the doors and tables had stains which could have been easily cleaned, had someone really wanted to clean them. We were traveling as a couple and yet got a room with joined twin beds instead of a double bed, which was kind of annoying. Continental breakfast was okay, but I wouldn’t say it was good. Breakfast area is small so one morning we had to sit by the chairs near the reception table to eat, because all breakfast tables were taken. The receptionist it also in charge of the breakfast area, so in the morning it’s a bit hectic. She had to bring us clean utensils from the another room because there were none in the tables, as there’s no one to clean after the guests in the breakfast area BUT the receptionist. Location was great, really central. I don’t think I’ll return.
Upon arrival, we were given a room that hadn't been cleaned and were assigned another room. Later that night, I went under the covers and found a giant period stain on the mattress pad. Because it was so late in the night, I decided to go into the unlocked linen closet next door and grab an extra sheet and deal with it in the morning. The next morning, I told the receptionist about the situation and asked that the mattress pad be changed. The older gentlemen was not particularly friendly and stated that it would be done. When I returned that night, the mattress pad with the period stain remained. We asked another receptionist to change the sheets and the younger fellow was really helpful and friendly, but stated that the hotel didn't have any extra mattress pads, so he gave me extra sheets, which I slept on for the remainder of the stay. The hotel does not have A/C, so we slept with the window open. It can get loud at night with all the people and cars.
The hotel is very well located, modern with a very nice personnel and globally clean. The beakfast is allso nice. I was a little disappointed by the maintenance of my room during my stay.
nice location close to metro, nice staff that helped with anything and also breakfast includer which could be more generous but still good.
A lovely hotel to stay in, close to a lot of metro stations and nearborhood is very parissiene with backeries and so on. Service was quite good, rooms always tidy.
great location and staff very helpful, but the lighting is appalling in the rooms and to not even provide a kettle is mean
Hotel is located on a quiet street off Rue Oberkampf. Modern interior, all very functional and clean. Rooms are obviously small, like other hotels at that price; but I was mostly out & about visiting the city. No air conditioning but I understand this is normal in Paris, plus the staff brought a fan to the room. Staff is polite without being overly friendly (not a problem though). Breakfast is like the rest: enough, good, functional. Would return if again in Paris.
It was comfortable, and I have no complaints except that there's a little enclave where previous guests went out to smoke - and I saw a broom + cigarette stubs everywhere outside. Inside the room, all was good. It's a small room, but very comfortable for a solo traveller, and had a really comfy bed too!
Hotel des Metallos is located in a lively neighborhood with a couple of Metro lines nearby within 5 min walking distance. The staff were friendly and helpful. There were restaurants with great food, cafes, and a supermarket very close to the hotel. It is very convenient. The room was small but since I was traveling alone, it did not bother me at all. The wifi signal was a little too weak thus the connection was slow. It is a little noisy though if you were looking for quietness at night/ morning. I did enjoy my stay at Hotel Metallos!

Friendly staff in this hotel and have a comfortable stay.
Close to Metro in a decent area. Clean room and overall pleasant stay.
It is close to the metro. It's a great hotel for the price. However some nights were very noisy and there is no air con, it was summer when we were there so we needed to have the windows open.
Bedsheets were yellowish and my friend complained of rashes after sleeping for 1 day. Noisy throughout the night and no air-conditioning in the room. Breakfast was ok with 3 choices of bread, orange juice and hot chocolate. Staff service was very good and friendly with daily room cleaning.
Hotel very old, everything very worn. Some staff helpful, others not at all. Too far from the heart of Paris
For 5 night at this hotel, I'm satisfied on the service since you walk in this hotel, greeting from hotel'staff and useful information that served before your request.
the location was perfect, very close to the subway and easy to find. breakfast was included and very good, with nice staff. but the room was very small, with hair in the shower, durty walls and carpet all over. not the best place (and not the cleanest) to stay for this price!
it was great. hotel is in decent part of paris. everything is at your hand
it's very near train & underground, and 5 min walk to park. also good bed and new shower room, very clean. but small room
the location was good as there are many places to eat and perfect walking distance to the metro. the staff were all friendly and the breakfast was fine. when we arrived and went to the our room, the bed was still in a mess. the blanket, bedsheets is not been tidy yet but the bathroom seems fine. the room was very small for the price that we paid for and the towel provided was extremely small. it is like a face towel rather than bath towel.
location is good, near bastille, in a narrow street, not far from the métro. hotel is somewhat old. room was relatively large, for paris standards, but furniture was very old (soft furnishings of chair completely torn, desk full of damage); bathroom good size and modern white tiling; cleaning of the room was below standard; lots of dust (you'll have to blow your nose in the morning to get rid of everything you have been breathing in during the night), dirt (fungi) on bathroom ceiling etc; room noisy (not so much street noise but sounds from other rooms, even of a normal conversation); digital tv with many channels; free wifi, but connection lost every few minutes. breakfast is typically french (you'll get 1 croissant, 1 bread roll, 1 chocolate bread, some marmalade, orange juice, tea or coffee); it is served in the reception area, only meters away from the front door, which is opened frequently and closes very slowly; this is not a good idea in winter time. overall: too expensive for what you get, even if you are in the middle of paris; much better hotels are available for about the same money.
when we arrive hotel ... room is not ready and looks like they don't even reserve room or prepare. took 30 mins to actually go in room and while that keep asking me booking number and how many room i want , how many days i stay.... after looks like it ready ..he told me different name ...so he prepare different people's room. book 3 bed room but of course there is only one so i ask them to prepare bed and hotel guy said ok but when i return hotel about 10:30pm .... bed wasn't ready . probably worst service hotel i book, but room is clean. 3rd bed was actually sofa bed and all line was already in there ...pretty smelly so i guess it was left there for while.
visited here on dec 2011, overall, i had a nice stay. everything is so expensive in paris, i'm very happy with the room for the price i paid. it was very reasonable. the room is bigger than i expected and with a small but vert clean shower even have a small balcony. even thought the location is not right at the city center, it's very close to pepublicque and very convenient. about ten minutes walk to the closest metro station and 2 minutes walks to the closest supermarket where you buy all your supplies. the hotel doesn't provide drinking water so it's better if you bring your own. they served breakfast at the lobby hall and i think you can chose it with or without breakfast before you book the room. if you're in to nightlife, you don't have to worry about coming back late to the hotel after a night out in the city. there will be someone staying up all night at the reception counter, just ring the bell and he'll open the door for you.
Staff friendly and helpful. Lovely woman serving breakfast
Fine hotel and nice staff. Okay continental breakfast. Small but clean rooms. Good bathroom. However there was no hot water for the last 1½ days due to some problem in the heatingsystem. That kind of spoiled a bit, as we had rented a room with a bathtub. However: We would gladly come back an other time hoping for another fine stay... with a hot shower :)
Hotel receptionist was curt, but helpful enough. Room size was small and spartan, but its fair for the price. Location-wise its not too bad, close enough to the metro station. Neighbourhood was safe at night. All in all, good for a one night stay but if you're going to be here for long, will start to grate on you.
nice clean hotel. on the whole value for money, negative side breakfast should not be served in the lobby with people checking in. no english channel on the tv . would stay again.
The hotel was clean, small room and commonly breakfast. Staff was friendly.
room is very good, big area and has bathtub. great for free wi-fi.
if you just want to sleep with a cheap price in paris, this might be the place. the best feature of this hotel is the price. it's cheap and you can go straight ahead to st. gare du nord, st. gare de l'est, and st. gare d'austerlitz directly by the subway. the staffs were very friendly, and yes they spoke to me mostly in french, but it was alright for me to say things in english. the room was small, but not that small, i could open my one-week suitcase and i still had the space to move. breakfast was also nice. there's a bakery right in the crossroad, and the bread was very delicious.
Rooms adequate but very small, managed to get round bed to get to bathroom but it was tight.Nice french b/fast set up and good Friday market one street over. ordering taxi excellent and on time.
We were transit from Germany to catch a morning flight from Paris. Since we arrived at 8pm, the hotel was quite easy to locate as it is just mins away from the Metro Oberkampf station. Free simple french breakfast was great for us. Breads, orange juice and coffee.
the mericourt hotel is conveniently located near oberkampf metro station, which is a 5-minute walk. since it is located inside a small street, it's quiet at night. anyway, the room is acceptable as a 2-star hotel with a reasonably-sized double bed.
The breakfast was good and simple.
Breakfast is only breads, room is not so good, small and look so cheap.
i'd like to say thanks to all the friendly staff in the hotel always patient in giving their helping hands and guide us to all the tourist spot. simple yet nice breakfast (the bread are really tasty!), clean and tidy room, plus very convientient location (only 3 min walk). there are at least 3 bakery shop, 5 chinese restaurants, pizzaria, 3 bar and 2 supermarket around the corner! the best of all, there is marche (marketplace) just a street away from hotel on tuesday and friday morning - we enjoy the friendly paris (strange, as i was told they were the most unfriendly european city b4 my trip), fresh fruit and excellent seafood. thanks again for giving us a great 1st trip of trip - we'll be back.
very nice and clean 2 star hotel. value for money. i would stay here again. staff is very friendly and helpful. rooms are clean.
the mericourt was good value for the money, centrally located, clean and friendly. breakfast was good.
staff were very helpful and always smiling. overall a very pleasant stay, not far from metro in a great area.
the mericourt was a great option for a reasonably priced hotel in a fairly centralised location. oberkampf station is nearer to the hotel, and be sure to look carefully for the word "mericourt", which is in smaller prints on the hotel's lightbox. there was free wifi in the room, and we met 2 receptionists during our stay, a gentleman in the night and a lady in the day. both were equally nice, and had smiles on their faces which made us feel welcome. the gentleman was also very helpful and gave us suggestions as to where we could find some food in the area. there was an outdoor market round the corner along the main street, where you could get groceries and fresh foods, cheeses, fruits etc. breakfast was bread and fresh coffee or tea, and orange juice... the rooms were abit small, but comfortable enough for some rest after a day's walking, and had amenities like soap, though the bath towel was a little smaller than usual. overall, was satisfied with the stay.
The hotel is 5 mins walk from Oberkampf metro station but you will have difficulty locating the hotel because the signboard is not visible at all. It has a green potruding sign that says 'La hotel' and in very fine print at the bottom Mericourt. You need to be sharp eye to locate it and also if you exit from the wrong end of the metro station, you will have problem walking there too. room is surprising big for the price I paid but the downside is there are 2 pubs located opp the hotel and it's very noisy right into the dead of the night you can hear the rackets even with window shut tightly. Other than that, the room is clean and fucntional. Bath roo is large with tub and clean. Towels are changed daily.
Staffs were helpful and can speak english very well. Good service with reasonable price.
Before stay here, we have stayed in another hotel on Rue Nemours. We felt like we finally can escape from a zero star hotel and really glad to check-in to 2.5 stars hotel. This hotel is very good in almost every aspect. They have several hotels in the group and manage professionally. Their staffs speak fluent English and provide friendly and professional service. The room is safe with two step lock, door knob and key lock. Unlike other hotel on Rue Nemours with only door knob. We did not have bad experience like we have in that hotel (A lady house keeper open the door, without knocking or asking, and come inside our room at 8:30am while we are still in the bed, again by a man house keeper on next day and 9:00am while we are dressing) because that hotel's door is very easy to open. The elevator is big enough to carry two adult passengers plus 2 luggage unlike the other hotel that can handle only 1 passenger at a time without luggage. (One guess to go up first, the second guess to send luggage one by one, then go after. Unbelievable but it's real) They served reasonable good carbohydrate breakfast with tasty hot chocolate.
This is my first time to stay in Paris. The hotel is small and located on a relatively minor street but I felt comfortable enough to stay there. This is 5-10 minutes walk distance from the nearest major metro station, 'Republique,' where you can buy a metro ticket (I sometimes found that a minor station doesn't sell a metro ticket).
We enjoyed our stay at the Mericourt Hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was kept clean and we enjoyed our breakfasts in the lobby. Our room was small, but I have stayed in smaller. We had a bath tub and a reasonably sized bathroom. The only issue I would have is if I stayed in the summer. With no airconditioning an open window would result in considerable street noise. Ask for a room off the street in that case. lWe recieved 3 rolls each for breakfast, fresh and very good. Plenty of excellent hot coffee and/or hot chocolate for the both of us. Overall I would recommend this hotel for the price unless you were accustomed to more expensive hotels
“Great area & good value ”
Perfect area for restaurants & bars on an evening and great bakeries for breakfast!
